21st Century Skills and Standards

21st Century Skills are what students need to be successful in school, work and life. And they need much more than good technology skills; 21st Century Skills require learning core subjects while applying critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
DCPS follows the National Technology Standards for Students (NETS-S). The technology standards are divided into six broad categories, with Performance Indicators that provide specific outcomes to be measured.
