Kinship Care

The Kinship Care Program supports "kin" families caring for relative children who have been neglected, abused, or are at risk for neglect and abuse. Kin is defined as any person related to a child by blood, marriage, or adoption. This vital placement and permanency resource is increasingly important as traditional placement resources diminish.

To learn more about the Kinship Care Program, contact the Child and Family Services Agency at (202) 442-6000.
