Making Donations to Children and Families
 
CFSA’s Partners for Kids in Care provides much needed items for foster children and at-risk families through donations from individuals, community groups and businesses. To make a donation and for more information, contact Partners for Kids in Care at (202) 727-7101.  You may also complete a donation form* and fax it to (202) 727-6505.
 
Your comments are welcomed as we are always seeking sponsorship opportunities to improve the lives of the children and families we serve. Here are seven suggested ways you can help make a difference in the lives of children and families:
  1. Donate to Seasonal Drives
    • Holiday Food Baskets & Toy Drive
    • Prom Season Drive 
    • Winter Coat Drive 
    • Toiletry Kits Drive
    • Back-to-School Drive
    • Summer Enrichment Drive
  2. Contribute to Our Children’s Donation Center – Wish List 
    Donate new or gently-used items to our children donation center. Here are a few suggested items:

    • Child Safety Seats (Infants and Toddlers)
    • Toys (with all parts and pieces)
    • Sleeping Bags and Pillows
    • Toiletry Kits/Personal Care Bags
    • School Supplies
    • Infant Supplies (Sleepers, Onesies, Diapers, Pull-ups, Formula, Bottles, Pacifiers, Wipes, Lotion, Powder, Shampoo)
    • Clothing (All Ages, Male/Female and All Seasons)
    • Under Garments (All Ages, Male/Female)
    • Socks (All sizes and Colors)
    • Computers/Printers 
    • Luggage
    • Tickets to Cultural and Sporting Events
    • Amusement Park Passes
    • Money for Clothing, Music, Dining and Entertainment
    • Furniture: Bedroom sets, desks, chairs
      Clothing Items for All Ages (Clothing should be clean, repaired and have size indicated.)
    • Shoes (Casual and Athletic)
    • Books (English and Spanish)
    • Personal Journals/ Diaries
      Developmental/Educational Games
    • Comfort Toys (Small Stuffed Animals, Beanie Babies) Hats, Gloves/ Mittens, Scarves
  3. Sponsor an Event
    Sponsorship can include: 
    • Cultural/ Arts Projects
    • Educational Field Trips
    • Tickets to a Play or Concert
    • Host a Party
  4. Contribute Money
    Donate funds to support special projects for children.  All donated funds must be submitted in the form of a check and made payable to: DC Treasurer. Projects include:
    • Back-to-School Picnic
    • Holiday Toy Drive
    • Youth Development and Recognition Programs
  5. Donate Services for Foster Families
    • Free haircuts
    • Offer a discount at your business
    • Free facility space
  6. Teach and Help Children
    • Mentor
    • Sponsor a child for a team or club
    • Offer an internship with your company
  7. Help CFSA
    • Host a special event for children and families
    • Offer bulletin board or ad space for public awareness messages
    • Recruit or become foster/adoptive parents
