Families First DC Family Success Centers
The DC Child and Family Services Agency’s (CFSA) Families Success Centers result from the Families First DC initiative, the District’s family-strengthening vision that is broader and bolder than Family First. The centers are in targeted neighborhoods east of the Anacostia River. CFSA serves approximately three-quarters of the children and families who live there.
Families First DC Success Centers
Social determinants of health, violence prevention priority areas, and reports of child abuse and neglect informed the selection of the Families First DC Success Center locations. The centers offer programs such as nutrition workshops, professional development training, stress management, and parenting classes.

Each neighborhood has an established Community Advisory Council, which consists of residents and stakeholders in the targeted community. These groups determine the services offered at the Family Success Centers, using a family-strengthening model to increase protective factors, mitigate trauma, fill in gaps in services, and set families up for successful outcomes.
