Partners for Kids and Families (PFKF)

Donations from the DC community allow CFSA's Partners for Kids and Families to provide much-needed items and enriching experiences to children and youth in foster care and families who come to our attention. The meaningful extras that caring donors provide make a real difference in the life of a young person or family and usually cannot be provided with public donations. Giving opportunities are open to individuals, families, community groups, businesses, and other organizations. One of the suggestions below may be just right for you.

To get involved, make a quick and easy monetary donation here, or please contact our Partners for Kids and Families (PFKF) team member listed below. Your generous donation can be accepted at our CFSA agency, but must be scheduled first, located at 200 I Street SE, Washington, DC, 20003, Monday – Friday from 9 am – 4:30 pm.

PFKF TEAM:

Contact Angela Robinson, Program Specialist, to schedule a donation or learn more about PFKF, at [email protected]. You can also call Angela at 202-590-5707.

Seasonal Drives

Help children and youth enjoy special times of the year. In the spring, donate new or gently-used formal wear, so teens in foster care can dress up for prom and graduation events. In late summer, your gift of school supplies helps kids and families get ready to learn—or equip an older youth for college with a computer, linens, and other necessities. Food baskets for families, toys, electronics, and gift cards are welcome in time for the winter holidays.

Children’s Donation Center

Children, teens, and families shop this “free store” on-site at CFSA year-round. Your donation of luggage and toiletries helps to smooth a difficult transition for children entering foster care. Families will make good use of your gift of new clothing, new toiletries, infant supplies, new sleeping bags, new bed and bath towels and washcloths, books, games, and toys.

Broader Horizons

Volunteer your time as a mentor and give a child or teen a life-changing experience. Fund the growth opportunity of participation in a team, club, or special lessons. Help an older youth in foster care learn about the world of work through an internship with your company.

Events

Sponsor an educational or recreational activity for children or families who come to our attention. Provide tickets to plays, concerts, movies, or sports events. Open your museum, workshop, office, or other venues for a field trip. Generous local businesses have organized arts and crafts projects, dinners, and parties where District children and youth in foster care had loads of fun.

Thank you, DC, for showing DC kids and families that their community cares.
