CFSA requires prospective CFSA and private agency employees to satisfy certain background and security clearance checks prior to confirming their employment status. These requirements are in addition to training and licensing requirements.

Any occurrence or event that substantially interferes with a child or youth's safety, well-being, or living arrangement, or in any way places the child or youth at risk, is considered an “unusual incident”.
